I had the extremely good fortune of contributing a design to the latest “Welly One-off” by Wellington Brewery, Canada’s oldest independently owned microbrewery.
Along with their Coaster Series, this is a great example of how Wellington Brewery promotes local artists and designers, and I’m definitely in good company!
Brad at the brewery gave me the basic information that needed to be on the label but other than that, I had free rein. Since I wanted to do a linocut for the design, he suggested a limited edition print to go along with the label. You can purchase a print from the brewery (while supplies last) or from my Etsy shop.
I cleaned up the design and and bumped up the colour saturation for use on the labels because the original scan wasn’t reproducing as well as Brad wanted. This brew is a hoppy wheat ale and is a refreshing choice as the weather starts to warm up…pick some up from the brewery or at bars around Guelph (while it lasts)!
