My first (and so far, only) foray into woodcuts was inspired by the passing of a family friend. The challenge of working with wood compared to linoleum is the grain. I found it challenging and rewarding to allow the wood to speak to me and the texture of the grain is wonderful.

The title (translated to French) comes from the Billy Bragg song Tender Comrade.
